Welcome to the Renegades Youth Club!

Those comments are just some of the verdicts delivered by the young members of The Renegades Youth Club.

Renegades is an exciting and unusual youth group based in the Loxwood, Wisborough Green and surrounding villages of West Sussex. Born out of the Scout movement but with a much freer and more creative approach, it is open to any child aged 10–18 in the Weald School catchment area. We are also running a trial club called Rascals, aimed at 7-10 year olds, up until Christmas to test the interest.

But most of all it is fun! From archery and astronomy to carpentry, canoeing and camping, via swimming, drama, night hikes, drone flying and even restoring a go kart... you name it and we do it! We offer both large mixed activity groups and specialist small group activities five days a week.

The Renegades are also in the process of planning a full year of professionally organised activities, with sailing, climbing and axe throwing top of the children’s very full ‘to do’ lists.

Our ambition is to set fire to the children’s creative minds and their imaginations. We want to take them to places and do activities with them that they will remember for the rest of their lives. The purpose of the club is to help develop the children through providing information and education in a fun way, through leisure opportunities and by actively involving the members in the running of the club, their community and wider society.

Rascals meets at 5-6.30pm while Renegades meets every Monday night for a mixed activity session from 6.30-8pm, both at the Loxwood Village Hall, Guildford Road RH14 0SF. We also continue to offer activity specific sessions on the other nights of the week and at the weekend. Other activities are in different locations and are communicated via the Spond app.

For peace of mind, The Renegades is a registered charity, all our volunteers are DBS checked and there is full insurance in place.

Membership fees are currently voluntary. If you are willing to pay (and so help families who are finding life difficult in the current economic climate), contributions are a suggested £10 a month per child to cover the cost of activities. All children are more than welcome to talk to us about joining or to come along for a taster session.

Ring Gareth Miller now on 07801 862550 or email renegadesyc@gmail.com to join the Renegades family.

Boredom is just not an option.
